What is root canal treatment?

Your first consultation

During your initial appointment, our dentist will conduct a comprehensive examination of your tooth, taking any necessary pictures and X-rays. We’ll discuss your treatment options in detail to ensure you’re fully informed. The first consultation fee is £50, which will be deducted from the total cost if you decide to proceed with treatment.

What does root canal treatment involve?

Root canal treatment is a skilled procedure designed to remove infection from the root canal and save the natural tooth. In most cases, the entire procedure can be completed in a single visit.

1 Removing the infection

The first step is to carefully remove the infected pulp from inside the tooth. This eliminates the source of the pain and allows us to restore your tooth’s health.

2 Cleaning and shaping

Once the infection is removed, the root canal is thoroughly cleaned and shaped to prepare it for sealing. This ensures the tooth is protected from future infections.

3 Sealing and restoring

Finally, the cleaned canal is filled and sealed with a special material. A permanent filling is placed to restore the tooth’s strength and function.

4 Complimentary follow-up

We offer a complimentary follow-up appointment a few months later to check the success of your treatment with an X-ray, giving you added peace of mind.
