We can usually see you on the same day for an Emergency Appointment.

If you are suffering with toothache, a broken or lost filling, a lost crown or bridge contact us and we will try to see you on the same day.

An ’emergency’ case does not necessarily mean that you are in pain. It will ensure we schedule adequate time to complete or begin treatment during this same day appointment.

Emergency appointments are available to all patients – regardless if you have never been to us before.

Additional appointments may be needed to complete your treatment but we will try to rectify your problem in this appointment if possible.

  • Q. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO YOUR PRACTICE AND I HAVE A TOOTHACHE?

A. Contact us today and we will help you. We are able to see any patient – regardless if you are registered with another dentist.

  • Q. HOW MUCH WILL MY EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT COST?

A. There is no additional charge for emergency appointments. There is a minimum £100 charge paid on the day.

For example: If you need an extraction the cost will be £150. This is the total cost ( including x-rays, prescriptions, etc).

If you need a root canal treatment then you will be charged £100 for your emergency appointment (opening the pulp for drainage, x-rays, prescriptions, etc). This emergency charge will be deducted from the total cost of the treatment.

  • Q. I AM EXEMPT FROM PAYING THE NHS DENTIST. CAN I HAVE AN EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT FREE OF CHARGE AT FERRY DENTAL CENTRE?

A. We are a private dental practice and we are not related to the NHS which means we don’t get funded by the Government. If you wish to visit us for an emergency or a regular appointment you will have to pay our normal fees.

  • Q. I HAVE LOST A CROWN. WHAT WILL THE COST BE TO RE-CEMENT IT?

A. The cost to re-cement a crown is £100. All treatments are warrantied for 5 years (unless there are clinical contraindications – for example if the crown doesn’t fit correctly on the tooth)

  • Q. I HAVE LOST A BRIDGE. WHAT WILL THE COST BE TO RE-CEMENT IT?

A. The cost to re-cement a bridge is £150. All treatments are warrantied for 5 years (unless there are clinical contraindications – for example if the bridge is not the appropriate treatment for your case)

  • Q. I HAVE AN ABSCESS AND ALL I NEED IS A PRESCRIPTION FOR ANTIBIOTICS?

A. We will examine you and take any necessary x-rays. The charge will be £100 (the minimum emergency charge).

  • Q. I AM IN PAIN BUT I WORK 9 TO 5. WHEN CAN I VISIT YOU?

A. We offer same day, late evening and Saturday emergency appointments.

  • Q. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NEW PATIENT EXAMINATION, AN EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT AND A FREE CONSULTATION?

New Patient Examination

A New Patient Examination is a 40 minute appointment, including digital x-rays, intra-oral photographs, a thorough examination of all teeth, gums and soft tissues and a detailed consultation with the dentist. During this appointment, no treatment will be provided. However you will be issued with a bespoke printed treatment plan of all options advised.

Additional appointments will be needed to complete your treatment plan.

Emergency Appointment

An emergency appointment should be scheduled if you are suffering with toothache, a broken or lost filling, a lost crown or bridge etc.

An ’emergency’ case does not necessarily mean that you are in pain. It will ensure we schedule adequate time to complete or begin treatment during this appointment if needed.

Free Consultation

At Ferry Dental Centre, we offer a free consultation to any patients who are interested in cosmetic treatment, such as teeth straightening (fixed braces or removable invisible aligners), teeth whitening, implants, veneers/crowns or any other smile make-over treatments.

During this appointment, you will have the opportunity to meet our experienced dentists and the rest of the team, discuss your queries and concerns and receive treatment advice from the dentist.

At this appointment, x-rays and a printed treatment plan may not be provided. This will come later once you have decided to go ahead with treatment with us. However, intra-oral photographs will be taken of the area in question.

Second Opinion

If you are requesting a second option from a dentist regarding a dental issue, there will be a charge of £50, which is then deducted from the total cost of treatment if you decide to proceed with treatment with us.

This appointment will not include treatment, but may include digital x-rays, photographs and a patient report and/or a printed bespoke treatment plan.

Additional appointments will be needed to complete your treatment plan.
